St. Joseph's Parish Finance Committee is consultative to the pastor.
The Finance Committe serves an important function in confirming the
financial transactions of the parish. The pastor approves all members,
sets the agenda and must be present at all meetings. The group engages
in consultation with the pastor regarding matters of finance, budget
and fiscal planning. The parish business manager provides regular
status reports of the Parish Finance Committee for review. The reports
are critical to the members of the Parish Finance Committe for review
in assisting the pastor in managing the temporal affairs of the parish.
Each year prior to June 1st, the Finance Committee is required to
prepare a budget for the entire parish operation, including the school,
for the next fiscal year.
Generally members of the Finance Committee have demonstrated expertise
in finance. Current members of the Finance Committe are Lester Freeman,
Karen Roberson and William Jefferson.
